Riverstone ranks No. 6 among nation’s top communities

Jan 16, 2014

After another year of record-breaking sales, Riverstone has moved up to No. 6 on two national list of top-selling master-planned communities.

Riverstone is now at No. 6 on two lists of the nation’s top-selling master-planned communities, based on 2013 sales.

Plus, Riverstone is the second-highest-ranking Texas development on the two reports, one compiled by John Burns Real Estate Consulting and the other by Robert Charles Lesser & Co. (RCLCO).

Riverstone builders sold 791 homes in the community last year, an increase of 31 percent over record-breaking numbers in 2012. The increase moved Riverstone up one spot on each list.

There were nine Texas communities earning a place among the top 20 developments. All of the Texas communities listed on the RCLCO report were from the greater Houston area and eight of the top 20 developments named on the John Burns list are in Houston. Four of the communities on each list are projects of The Johnson Development Corp., the developer of Riverstone. Named Developer of the Year in the Greater Houston Builders Association’s Houston’s Best PRISM Awards, Johnson Development had more nationally ranked communities than any other developer in the country.

“We anticipate another successful year,” said Tom Wilcox, general manager of Riverstone. “Every builder reported strong sales in all price points and housing styles. We are expecting another robust year in 2014 and also look forward to the opening of The Club at Riverstone, a 17-acre water park and recreation center, this summer.”

Nineteen builders offer designs in Riverstone, with prices from the $280,000s to the millions. For more information on the Fort Bend development, visit www.riverstone.com.
