Outdoor amenities planned for Tuscan Lakes
Apr 23, 2014
The Clear Lake master-planned community of Tuscan Lakes has announced it will add several new amenities for families who enjoy the outdoors, from a new spray park and canvas shade structures for its two playgrounds to new park benches and lighting at Lake Siena.
The announcement comes as League City continues with plans to open an Olympic-sized pool in the Hometown Heroes Park in Tuscan Lakes by the summer of 2015.
Meanwhile, crews soon will install large, canvas shade structures at Tuscan Lakes' two playgrounds designed to block out up to 90 percent of the sun's UV rays, keeping playground equipment cool. New park benches and lighting also are being installed at Lake Siena. Both of these enhancements will be completed by the start of summer 2014.
Families in Tuscan Lakes, a community by The Johnson Development Corp., also will soon enjoy a new spray park and open-air pavilion scheduled to open on Lago Nicola Street in spring 2015.
"Well-planned amenities are essential to creating a successful master-planned community," said Tuscan Lakes general manager Bob Douglas. "They add to a community's sense of 'place' and certainly play an important role in the continued growth of Tuscan Lakes."
The community currently offers the "Cypress Point" recreation center featuring a resort-style swimming complex with water features and a stone fireplace. Cypress Point also features a large play area with play equipment, lakes, a nature preserve, greenbelts and jogging trails.
Tuscan Lakes also is the Bay Area's only master-planned community with a lifestyle director who coordinates a full calendar of activities and excursions for residents.
"Our residents enjoy an active lifestyle," added Douglas. "It's what makes Tuscan Lakes such a vibrant community."
Tuscan Lakes is located in League City, on League City Parkway (Texas 96), just two miles east of Interstate 45.
